The Firm was commissioned by Landcom to act as the Project Manager for the preparation of an Environmental Impact Assessment for the extraction and processing of a sand and soil deposit located at Menangle Park West. The project entailed the management and coordination of 14 seperate expert studies, client liaison, conduct of community meetings and the preparation of all statutory documentation.

 

 

 

                             

Harvest Scientific Services has carried out numerous environmental, geotechnical, wastewater and other investigations for Rein Warry & Co and their clients over the last 30 years, principally within the Wingecarribbee, Wollondilly and Camden local government areas. Rein Warry & Co has been one of the lead land surveying and project management companies in this area and the Firm has enjoyed a very successful professional association with them during that time.

  

 

Harvest Scientific Services has managed the compilation of all relevent experts reports for the preparation and lodgement of a Development Application for an 80 bed High/Low care hostel for the Estonian Relief Committee located at Thirlmere, NSW. This has included the assessment of the site's capacity to host an on-site wastewater disposal facility. In addition, it has prepared and lodged Development Applications for a number of self care units and provides on-going advice on all environmental and planning matters.

 

  

 

An evaluation of a sandstone quarry in the Sydney Basin was carried out by the Firm with the view to determining the volume and quality of the resource. The quarry has produced both aggregate and dimension stone. The Firm's "Competent Person" was able to nominate an "inferred" resource.

 

 

 

 

An environmental assessment of nine coal release areas located in the Western and Gunnedah Coalfields was carried out for Monaro Mining NL. The assessment was part of Monaro's tender to the Department of Primary  Industries for each of these areas. The assessment considered the potential impacts of proposed exploration and development of potential coal resources on flora/fauna, groundwater, local infrastructure noise and dust and agriculture.

 

  

 

The Firm provides Matt Collins and Sons with a wide range of environmental consulting services who operate significant sand and soil processing as well as composting activities in the Elderslie and Spring Farm areas near Camden. These services include the preparation of Environmental Management Plans, compliance advice regarding existing consents as well as air, noise and water monitoring.  

  

 

 

The Firm was responsible for a number of environmental aspects associated with this development located north-west of Camden for Abax Contracting. These aspects included geotechnical and wastewater assessmwnt for 50 residential lots, p-lanning of lot layout and configuration, preparation of a landscape and weed eradication program, geotechnical assessment of access roads and dam crossings, development of a community Management Statement and the compilation of a Farm Assessment Plan.

 

 

 

Harvest Scientific Services was the Project Manager for the Environmental Impact Statement lodged in support of a Development Application for the Camden Coal-Bed Methane Project on behalf of Sydney Gas NL. This State Significant Development was the first project of its kind in NSW and a milestone in the development of coal-bed methane resources of the Sydney Basin. As a result of the approval, the NSW Government granted the first ever Petroleum Production Lease (PPL 1) to Sydney Gas NL.

  

 

The Firm has been providing the Hi Quality Group environmental monitoring services on its sandstone quarries located at Cattai and Mt Hunter. In addtion, the Firm's long association with these two quarries (which were previoulsy owned by other parties) also provides the basis for informed advice regarding environmental compliance and other technical issues.  

 

The Firm provided broad scale environmental services to Amadeus Petroleum during its exploration of the Sydney Basin for oil and gas. Services included soil and water management for its drilling operations and site specific  environmental management plans. Preparation of a Statement of Effects for each drill site was an essential part of the Company's committment to good exploration practice.
